
We both looked into this and it turned out they are a Panamanian subspecies which at the time were referred to as Atta cephalotes isthmicola. Absolutely stunning ant. The black thorax makes them look very different.

I know someone,who had bought one colony of Atta cephalotes bicolor from Antstore.Ant store sells them - i wonder how they got them?!
