Queen wings removal

Post by Deansie26 » Wed Sep 20, 2017 7:05 pm

I still have my Acromyrmex colony for a few more days before it goes to its new home, it's doing very well and producing many winged females. This it's self isn't usual for this species in captivity, but I noticed something that I haven't before, a queen working but she had her wings removed? Have you seen this Andy?

Is that your Acros away now, Jamie? Hows life with no Leaf Cutters?

Right time of year for not having to find leaves. Looking at a long winter with 200 new colonies coming in a month. Will need more types of leaves that are evergreen to make it bearable and cost effective. Buying half a ton of broccolli every few days is not an option.
