When we were filming 'Planet Ants', Adam came in with a colony of Atta cephalotes which he had collected from Panama I think. The only problem was they were very different from my Atta cephalotes colony.

We both looked into this and it turned out they are a Panamanian subspecies which at the time were referred to as Atta cephalotes isthmicola. Absolutely stunning ant. The black thorax makes them look very different.

Can you get them??? Would 100% not be able to resist a colony if them, fantastic looking, contrast is really unusual.

Only Adam has got these. You should pm him and ask. He might swap for a normal Atta. Or we should go to Panama and get em'!

Dont think thats the same subspecies. And they dont have them in stock. Many of these sellers have lists and lists of stock but actually dont have even close to that level of stock. They may have had one or two colonies at one time.

Beautiful. They look like normal Atta just dressed for dinner.
