From the picture it looks like there is some standing water in the bottom which is separated from the fungus by the clay balls. If this is so its an interesting idea because the heat mat will heat the water causing wet heat. The condensation on the sides would run down the glass back into the reservoir at the bottom. Dont know if thats the case but its a good idea. If its not the case then I'm claiming that idea as mine!!!
