Is regular silicone bad for Atta?

Post by JPSMedeiros » Mon Jan 30, 2017 7:46 pm

Hello, I'm planning on making some glass boxes but I don't have easy access to aquarium silicone, I wonder if I use regular silicone and let it "dry" for like 15 days or 30 days would be bad for the Atta. Thanks.

Has to be high modulus and free from fungicidals. Most non aquarium silicone has a fungicide in it which will kill the fungus.

There's aquarium silicone available on eBay.

Atta cephalotes (2019)
Camponotus detritus (2018)
Camponotus maculatus (2018)

The one I use is Aquamate, its on Amazon for around £3 per tube. Might not help in your country but I am sure there will be equivalents. Just avoid any silicone with fungicide.
