This is a great display in that it shows all the workings of the colony and it is quite unusual to look at. I'm going to give them a call and check it's still there and if so go down to see it in January as ill be in the north east visiting, get some good photos etc.

1I really like this display. Its very well set up. The most astonishing thing is there is no condensation!! And no particular ventillation. You should maybe try to get to the bottom of that when you contact them. If they dont have it on show anymore maybe they would want another one?

I'll get more info on it, I assume if they have any vents they will on top if the domes or vents may be in the connecting tubing, which I prefer myself. Do you think there isn't a temperature gradient from bottom to top, may even keep the top of the unit the slightest bit higher to prevent condensation at all?
Hopefully find out in visit.

I cant work out whats more impressive about that picture, the amazing colony of ants and the visual access we have to it or the amazing orange clips the used to hold the thing together. I want them!
