Realized I never gave a proper introduction! I'm from Southern California where we primarily have Acromyrmex versicolor. We're supposed to also have Cyphomyrmex and Trachymyrmex but I don't think I've heard of anyone finding them. No Atta's, except maybe to the extreme east, basically in Arizona.
I'm fairly experienced with keeping non-fungus growing ants. I'm also professionally and unprofessionally (rather, non-professionally ) an engineer, geologist, biologist, botanist, tinkerer, and annoyance (just kidding, I hope) so I love trying different methods and building new ideas.

Turder, you seem like an ideal person to give input into the ideas for housing which are discussed around here.
Great to have you on board.
