Daubz I had a set up in my garage that temps got to well under freezing and I used 3" celotex insulation, temp never moved, its top stuff. Its basically building what you want with the best insulation you can afford. Its not cheap stuff though.
You should look to build a large insulated vivarium if you ask me, that's what I would do. If you can afford to insulate the whole place to that level then rock on. Be brilliant.

Im going to use Celotex Insulation Board, (L)1200mm (W)450mm (T) 50mm to insulate the loft, will this keep the heat out as well because i know lofts can get pretty warm in the summer.

In a hot part of summer I had to use a fan to cool, But I'm pretty sure that's because I had a double glazing front. It should be pretty solid if you use that stuff, already thinking big lol.

I use u-foil! Lined the ant room out with it! It's good at keeping heat in or heat out! Looks like a space ship but works well, fairly cheap and easy to apply!
