Portable air con unit

Hi all,

Im concerned that in summer my loft may get to hot for my ants, would it be possible to put a portable air con unit up there, im asking because i have heard that ants and air dont mix.

Im planning on building some walls and boxing off an area in my loft which i will air condition with a small portable air con unit.

I don't see why not if controlled with a thermostat and cold air is not directly blowing on colonys, sure Andrew dill pop in if there is a problem.

The ultimate solution to the climate problem is to control the room, not the enclosure. This is the case when temperature is too high as well as too low. I have, several times, used a chiller and a heater together so the room is held exactly at 24C. Nice idea, let us know how it develops.

Thanks for the advice, i would cool the whole room but when i mentioned that to the wife she had her kill face on, think she may have been concerned about the energy bill.

Honestly, if there one thing a woman knows how to do well its spoil a good party! (Ehmmm, thats excluding our female members here who, I am sure, were they married to you, would help you wire the equipment to bring about your domestic climate adjustment! :) )
