5 to 10 maybe, everytime you add some ants increase the size, when the biggest size is with the queen and they're not attacking her then she should be ok.

Jimi, sorry just catching up on this thread.
OK, where to start. The queen falling in the water was unfortunate. Caused some identity problems for sure. Also picking her up, with or without gloves, is a huge no no. It adds scents to her which gets her attacked. The ants carrying her looked quite bad, she actually looked dead. But the subsequent pictures show her alive. Can you check to see if she still has both antennae and they are the full length. Sometimes when the ants attack its the antennae they remove and this is a death sentence for the queen. The picture of the queen with a little fungus needs a lot more soil added to build up the humidity. This should be damp and should surround the fungus. Add ants to the queen chamber as Jamie has advised. Once you see them tending the fungus and not attacking the queen, continue to add them. Adding ants to the queen rather than the other way around will prevent attacks. But it is important that you preserve the fungus as much as possible so I would actually add fungus to the queen along with the ants each time. Let us know if they are cutting leaves in the next 24 hours.
