Thought i would share the journey of the new atta colony which arrived Saturday 16th from Andrew. They are all in and work has begun.

Nice how you let them goin in set up like in wild but how will you no how the fungus is and growing did you make the hole for them and make a chamber for them or did they do it all them selfs great colony

Hi mate, no I didn't make any chambers just a small hole initially to place them in with the log over the top of them as I wanted to just leave them to it and decide themselves where to put everything. Luckily as you can see they have placed fungus next to the glass so I can see some of it but will really just be going off the ants behaviour and numbers to judge the health of the colony. All I will do is give them the temp/humidity and let them get on with it so will be interesting to see what they do. For me it's more enjoyable as I don't know what they will get up to or where they will put things.
