Gave them a piece of cabbage (a large piece) and today half of it is gone! I'd added it to the nest area as its a little closer and I wanted them to take as much leaf as possible.

Lots of growth over the past day.

About 3/4 the size of a golf ball now!!!

Really glad they're doing so well now. They've cut some Brussel sprout leaf last night. I might be getting a small atta colony from a friend soon so I'll use the same type of setup just larger for them if I get them.

They loveeeeeee honey water, they lapped it up last night!

Okay I'll wait until I move before getting them and will probably get them from Andrew instead. It was just a one time offer from him, that's all.
But I might be getting an Acromyrmex sp. queen from Argentina soon Smile

Just checked on this colony and it's all going well. They are feeding well and the fungus is showing this with darker growth on top. Really good

Long update:

I'm amazed how well these guys are now doing. I've seen a few eggs in the fungus and growth is about 1 and a half golf balls now. It just can't be captured with a camera! For some reason the fungus isn't growing as fast as Deansies, it's just the way my setup is. For Christmas I'm saving up to make a better setup, about 4 acrylic cubes connected with piping inside of an incubator leading to a bigger one as an outworld. It will all be heated with a heat cable. It will look like this:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=18451665 But a smaller version. Hopefully will be buying the acrylic cubes from ant kit.

I've priced this at around £50.'

I always used this company, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Wholesale- ... 7675.l2563

Piping isn't cheap, buy more than one length if you think you may need it in the future as it saves a fortune on postage.
