Deansies Acromyrmex colony No2

Post by Deansie26 » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:35 pm

Hey, collected my young Acromyrmex colony recently and actually got to choose the colony which was great! There where larger colony's available but I opted for a pretty small one but it did have quite a few ants. I done this as it will be nice to watch them grow from scratch again.

Simple set up, easily expandable for feeding box. Will build a nice large set up for them in the future.

Seeing this small colony made me realise how well my last colony was doing and how far it had come.

Is a single queen colony.

Hi everyone sorry not updated for a while, today I done a fresh simple set-up till I have designed and built their main one.
To be honest I've not been happy with the current one I've been running and nor have the ants.
This should keep the humidity 100% simplified version of the one I had initially built for me with my first colony. I've used cat litter as substrate and added a little power head for flow.

Just for gripping, find clean acrylic can be slippy for them-didn't want any skydivers lol.
