Yeah a cocoon eclosed and a new worker exists now, still the other cocoons to eclose, but I reckon they'll be ready in a week or so.

I'll do an update at the weekend. As for what I take pictures with....well a camera of course . Nikon D3200 standard 18-55mm lens or Ollo Clip for iPhone.

I just witnessed a callow ant eclosing from a cocoon! Exciting stuff, this new worker is larger than her sisters and a beautiful golden colour before she darkens. There are now 5 workers after a few of the older workers died, with a newly laid batch of eggs and 3 cocoons. The time between larva to pupa is short but the time from pupa to worker is considerably longer.

I'm very pleased with the last picture, enjoy :)

Have you been stung yet. I always say it is necessary to experience the worst of what your charges can deliver so you are confident around them. Come on, bite the bullet (ant)..... did you see what I did there?

No... I know. I had to work with the material I had to hand. Its not my fault Raj has got Bulldog ants, not Bullet Ants. The joke still works in my head. Killjoy!
