Our colony's fave foods....

Bramble leaves and apples...they go mad for them...then orange peel...and highly-scented flowers in the summer, honeysuckle and buddleia. They DO NOT like raspberries, strawberries or banana...they chuck them over the side, into the water...

Have you tried honeyed water?
They don't like bananas but love banana leaves. Don't like raspberry but take raspberry leaves. Same with strawberries! Strange. I wonder if they would take these if it were very dry in the nest.

The colony went mad for red grapes yesterday....a real frenzy!!

I think they drink the liquid from the grapes and use the skin for fungus mainly. Have you tried honey and water.

Sorry I know this is kind of an old post, but where do you buy your grapes from :3 and how can you be sure that they haven't been treated with herb or pesticides?

What plants would you reccoment as I am currently living in England and looking to get leaf cutters in the future.

Hi Charlie, take a look in this section, the Food Plants section, and you'll get loads of options. Privet is a favourite.
