Daubz ant loft

Post your builds, private or commercial set ups. This is where we will document the creation of housing or the planning and construction of projects from scratch. This differs from the Journal Section because this section does not concentrate on the Ants or the other animals that are being kept, this section focuses on the progress of the build.

Andrew's ant room maintains a humid atmosphere because his ant colonies are all in pretty much open tubs, yours won't be.
His ant room is lined with glass if I remember, your loft won't be so mould/rot could become an issue possibly.
Did Dale decide not to have an open system on the shelf? Is he going with pipes to connect the boxes? If so then thats true, you should beware the effect of humidity on your house, it could fall down!
I beg your pardon if that's the case, I was under the impression they where sealed units he would be using.
I'll need to re read the above, bit of a brain buster lol

I like the idea of the open setup but rot is a worry, i think i will have to use tubing between the fungus gardens, my wife insnt that keen on the ants anyway if my house fell down because of them she would be pissed
ants i keep:-
Atta cephalotes
Polyrhachis dives
Camponotus cruentatus
Camponotus ligniperdus
Camponotus barbaricus
