Magic's first set up

Post your builds, private or commercial set ups. This is where we will document the creation of housing or the planning and construction of projects from scratch. This differs from the Journal Section because this section does not concentrate on the Ants or the other animals that are being kept, this section focuses on the progress of the build.

yes . I was thinking that , one island for the nest and one for leaves.
I really like the new one which you're doing for yours and finally would like to end up with something amazing like that but it takes some time to plan and build it and this one will be good for a start , even though it will be not so great to look at but will keep the temperature and humidity right .

If you are looking for a place to buy your two new tanks I suggest antstore. I've personally sterilised one of my antstore tanks with boiling water and it still held together just fine lol. Plus they have a variety of different sizes.

Also a little unrelated but make sure if you buy any veggies from the supermarket they are organic ;)

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Sumach leaves as they are toxic for the fungus. And make sure if you buy any plants to ask if they have been treated with pesticides or herbicides first. :)

Hi Magic, that's a good question.. what to avoid.

The only thing I have ever found that suggests a plant type that may be detrimental is "sumac" plants.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumac

I think I might have read this on the ant store website? Not sure.

There is a good thread on here for suitable "food" types..

(Edit - sorry I didn't read the previous post before posting this)
