The Zoolab Tropical Themed Zoo

Post your builds, private or commercial set ups. This is where we will document the creation of housing or the planning and construction of projects from scratch. This differs from the Journal Section because this section does not concentrate on the Ants or the other animals that are being kept, this section focuses on the progress of the build.

Those photos are great! I'm certain that when the time comes, which I'm sure it will. I'm going to discussa build for my house with you, would love something solid and professional that goes through my boys rooms if possible.
Definitely getting the Tropical house touch next time if I can.

Ignoring Jamies pedantic comments, I was wearing my artists hat today. Finally we started the theming!!
Always my favourite part of a job.
We chose one of the exhibits and applied the Aztec rock finish.....

Still to be painted and finished off but you get the idea.

We also started serious work on the huge buttress root tree which will form the central portion of the exhibit....

by adding a natural branch to the artificial tree.

More Aztec theming, starting on the big wall. Its a big wall!

This next picture shows the start of the ant walk way where the leaf cutters will walk through the aztec wall. There will be lights through this so it should look amazing.

And an overall view of the work so far.

Its freehand with a carving tool. You need to wait until the concrete is nearly hard so theres a window of around and hour to do it before it sets.
