Magic, it is exactly as you say, the pipe offers darkness and close walls for security. Most people cannot help themselves and meddle with this constantly. For me the best advice is to say if this is where the ants want to be, leave them. But take what they are telling you on board. Kill the lights in the nest tank, they will not move in there with them on. Once they are established then you can switch them on but for now let the ants stay where they are and they will do better.

Perhaps put the lights onto the piping and off the nest tank?

But, unless I am seeing it wrong, the piping is green. How would it work putting the lights on the pipe?

That's what I was thinking. I am not going to touch them, I know the last few days was terrified for them. Traveling by post and new set up that's quite a lot of stress. Will let them do what they want to do . The lights are off now.
Few of them are building something whole day.

The small connections pipes are green and that's the place they like at the moment lol. I'm very patient and will wait till then decide to move on

Are you able to get a thermometer and humidity meter probe into the pipe where the fungus is. Monitoring these parameters exactly where the fungus is is central to knowing everything is good.
