Natural! I Pulled it out of a rotten tree and the top of the tree broke off and I went flying on my arse! I cut it in half as it was much bigger! The ants cut bits off it and added it to the fungus! It's a clematis, now it's dried it's solid!

Had three, two large and the new smaller one that is growing like the clappers! The two large ones toppled toward each other to create one large one with a tunnel underneath that the ants walk through (see pic) its hard to get an idea of the size but id say they are both F10's or one giant F20 and a small F7 I guess, although that's going to topple on it's side soon!

Wow Sean, fungus looks absolutely fantastic. Brilliant colour and a very nice size, must be doing something unusual. Fungus steroids?
I keep over 20 species of ant, inc. Acromyrmex Octospinosus

Here's an update montage, since the last update the two large fungus balls have joined creating a football! The pictures do it no justice but I'm very pleased! The new garden atarted a few weeks ago has grown around the Perspex rod (pod bridge) so I have removed that to allow the fungus to lay, I was also lucky enough to witness the Queen on one of her wonders, she seems to prefer to pods over the main garden but all is excellent so I'm not worried and she does like to get about! http://youtu.be/B32nReAHSrU

Love the queen moving. Very lucky to catch that shot. Bet you were momentarily concerned? Normally when I see a queen getting dragged through a pipe, she is dead!
Strange music in your montage. It should be at least from the correct part of the world!! Thought maybe the queen was about to be beheaded by the ants!!
