Some of the bigger Attas I am digging up are very impressive. Its deep in the dry season here so the ants are deep!
Baldeo, my trusted side kick, is a master at excavating the nests and finding the fungus garden that has the queen. He seems to have an instinct!
The fungus gardens when I first collect them are a bit rough and broken up
but they quickly get reorganised and look perfect again!!
Some new Atta fungus gardens.
Post here for any notes or records of sightings in the wild. Behaviour, nuptial flights etc, everything about these ants from the Tropics!
