size of a Atta specie

Does anyone know what the biggest specie of Atta is, when i went on holiday to the amizon rain forest i saw a very large specie of Atta leafcutters carrying large leafs, and another specie of Atta who were small and carrying small leafs. Does anyone know the specie of the large Atta?

Where were you on holiday. It is generally accepted that the biggest species of Atta is laevigata. Certainly the soldier caste is the largest of all Atta I think.
