Some Pics from Trinidad: Collecting Leaf Cutters

Post by Acromyrmexbob » Tue Nov 21, 2017 6:04 pm

Just back from Trinidad, went collecting to some new places this time with one of my guys.

In full view of Trinidads highest mountain, El Tucuche, one of only three locations in the world where the Golden Tree Frog is found.

We went further into the mountain region along amazing tracks.

Until we reached the plantation we were heading for. They grow everything here; bananas, citrus, amazing fruit and veg you would never see outside the Caribbean.

And then the farmers pointed me and my guy in the direction of the colonies he had kept for us....

A definite holiday place, looks so natural and untouched.

Yes, its very beautiful. Unfortunately I spend most of my time looking down, not up! That means I dont normally appreciate it. But it does look nice in the pictures.
